Facsimile, Reprinted in 2000 This 1828 facsimile reprint of the first American Dictionary documents the quality of Biblical education which raised up American statesmen capable of forming our Constitutional Republic. Webster traced roots in twenty-six languages, and gives examples from classical literature and the Bible. Comprehensive introductions are presented for language and grammar. It has been described by one Christian scholar as "the greatest reprint of the twentieth century." The added biography by Rosalie Slater, "Noah Webster, Founding Father of American Scholarship and Education," describes his contribution to many fields.
The CD is based on the original 1828 dictionary and the CD provides the book in a PDF format that can be read with a free copy of Acrobat Reader, which is provided, on the CD. Every fifth page is indexed.
The dictionary is in Acrobat reader 5.0 format and can be run on any machine that has Acrobat 5.0 or greater. This includes Windows PC, Macintosh, and Unix systems. The CD comes with instructions for installing the file on a PC or a MAC.
The dictionary files can be copied from the CD to your hard drive so you can access the dictionary whenever you want to and do not have to start the CD in the drive.
